Sterilization Processing Technician

We are seeking a full-time Sterilization Processing Technician to play a pivotal role in ensuring the meticulous preparation of surgical instrumentation, including thorough decontamination, inspection, and preparation for terminal sterilization. Additionally, this role executes various sterilization methods such as Autoclave, GI, and soak sterilization, proficiently cleans and sterilizes flexible scopes and efficiently verifies biological testing outcomes. Administrative responsibilities include monitoring inventory, using software and computers provided, identifying opportunities for quality improvement, participating in meetings and committees, maintaining certifications, and training new team members. Successful Sterilization Processing Technicians perform effectively in emergencies, apply their knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control policies and procedures, and excel in their communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

About the OR Department

Join our vibrant Operating Room (OR) department, boasting 15 innovative OR suites catering to a wide array of specialties including orthopedic, spine, ear, nose, throat, urology, general surgery, and more. As the largest staffed department in the company, teamwork is at the core of our culture, fostering a comfortable and seamless patient experience. Monday - Friday, 9:00AM - 5:30PM. NO NIGHTS. NO WEEKENDS. NO HOLIDAYS.

This position is located at 910 E 20th Street, Sioux Falls, SD.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • BLS certification is required; can be obtained upon hire.
  • One plus year of Central Sterilization Processing Room experience is preferred.
  • IHACSMM certification preferred.
